Welcome to Six Nations Fixtures 2012



The Six Nations 2012 fixtures have been announced and they look mouthwatering. It's the first chance for the players to show what they can do on the international stage, after the Rugby World Cup in New Zeland in September and October 2011.  Who will go in as favourites is yet to become clear, but surely the English and the French look frontrunners, but it really could be anyones Six Nations tournament..

The Six Nations Fixtures 2012 look absolutely mouthwatering.  The Six Nations 2012 tournament kicks off in Paris on Saturday afternoon with France hosting Italy.  Shortly afterwards Scotland take on England in the Calcutta Cup game at Murrayfield.  On the Sunday 5th February 2012 Ireland takes on Wales at the magnificent Aviva Stadium in Dublin.  Week two of the Six Nations 2012 kicks off with Italy vs England in Rome.  The pick of the matches this weekend is the Saturday night game is France vs Ireland.  The Sunday 6 Nations 2012 match is Wales vs Scotland in Cardiff.  Week three, usually a pivotal moment in the tournament places Ireland vs Italy then England vs Wales at Twickenham on Saturday 25th February 2012.  The Six Nations weekend closes with Scotland vs France on the Sunday 26th February 2012.  Week four pits Wales vs Italy and Ireland vs Scotalnd on Saturday 10th March followed by France vs England on Sunday 11th March 2012.  The tournament culminates with a Six Nations Super Saturday.  The earlies ever kick off in the Six Nations is the 12:30 potential wooden spoon decider fixture of Italy vs Scotland at Stadio Flamino, Rome.  Wales then host the flamboyant French at the Millennium Stadium before England host Ireland at 5pm to bring down the curtain on the 6 Nations 2012 fixtures. Wales vs Ireland Rugby World Cup 2011 -  Anthems
Wales met Ireland in the World Cup 2011 Quarter Finals and what a game that was.  Despite the French progressing further in the tournament Wales and Ireland look far better teams than  the French.  We've put a clip in from the anthems just to whet your apetitie!  The Six Nations 2012 Ireland Wales rematch in Dublin on the opening weekend will be an epic.

Wales vs England - Will it be Gavin's day again? -   
Wales vs England is the opening game of the 2011 Six Nations and the big question on everyone's lips is will Gavin Henson be making an apperance. After a couple of years out of rugby to concentrate on reality tv shows Gavin Henson is finally back playing rugby.  He announced himself on the world stage with a magnificent display against England in the 2005 Welsh Grand Slam campaign, so wouldn't it be fitting if he marked his return to international rugby with another world class performance in Cardiff on the 4th February 2011.  We've included a clip of the 2005 Wales England Six Nations match below just to refresh your memory.

There's one try from each of the Six Nations teams.  Rory Underwood scoring for England against Scotland back in 1993, the try line to try line score from Philippe Saint-Andre against the English in 1991, O'Driscolls easy finish after amazing teamwork and patient build up against France in 2000, Mauro Bergamasco finishing like a winger in Scotland vs Italy 2001, Jim Calder against Wales and finally Phil Bennett scoring arguably the greatest try the tournament has ever seen for Wales against Scotland in 1977.
 


Six Nations 2010 - Video highlights of 2010 Six Nations tournament -  includes clips of France dismantling Ireland in the pivotal game on their way to lifting the 2010 Six Nations. This was one of the best tournaments to date, with the French producing some vintage running rugby on their way to the Grand Slam.  The Irish dissapointed and failed to retain the crown.
